Well, hey there, Friend! Welcome back. A week and a half ago, I turned 33. So far, I am ON IT. I scheduled a massage, a hair appointment, a doctor appointment, lost two pounds, applied for my passport, and I even have an appointment with a tax accountant to do my taxes before April. I'm slaying. And I got a new ampersand for my desk. Anyway, I have some good stuff for y'all this week.
FRESH WEDDINGS
Be on the lookout for a fresh wedding blog coming in the next week, as well as an updated wedding page. If you're engaged and looking for a photographer, I have a few dates still open this year the last two weeks in October and all of November is ready to be reserved by YOU. I'm all open for 2019 and 2020! Let's chat!
HAVE PASSPORT, WILL TRAVEL
As I mentioned above, I applied for my passport last week. And I checked my mail for it last night because I'm a hopeful and optimistic person. Anyway, if there's somewhere you've always wanted to go, whether it be for engagement, wedding, or just to have fun and be photographed, I would love to see these places that have drawn your attention! Stateside or abroad, let's go!
THINGS I'M LOVING THIS WEEK
Hellcats, Inc., out of Orlando, FL. I love everything they are creating. This is one of their stickers, but they have everything from stickers to candles.
Missy Mwac with some Tough Love Business Advice. It seems like starting a business is similar to losing weight. Everyone wants to claim they have the secret to success. Eat this food, use these marketing tactics. South Beach Diet, Pink Yam strategy (I made that up), blah blah blah. If you're really trying to lose weight, there's no magic. You just have to eat right and exercise. If you're running a business there's no secret. You have to commit, fail, recover and work really effing hard. Just like losing weight. The magical secrets to success in wellness and in business are simply tried and true methods that get repackaged as some revolutionary new product or idea, but it all boils down to one thing: work your ass off.
COMING TO A MAILBOX NEAR ME
I ordered this gorgeous travel wallet from House of Flynn, which was recommended to me by Grace Troutman and Kara Vorwald. Their price range is on the high end but you can get stuff fairly cheap if you keep an eye on it and wait for it to go on sale. I love that they have stuff specifically for photographers, but also for people who aren't photographers.
ARTIST I'M CELEBRATING THIS WEEK
Grace Troutman is a local photographer, and her work is always gorgeous. In fact, I post the word "Gorgeous!" on pretty much all of her Instagram posts. One thing I love about Grace is her willingness to show who she is, and just be real with people on social media. She does incredible work and if you hired her for your wedding you wouldn't regret it. She's a really sweet person and a really talented artist!
UP NEXT
Things to be on the lookout for this week include new wedding photos and get this: A NEW WEBSITE. Yep, so not just new photos on the wedding page, but a whole website overhaul. For the time being my pages will be down but you will still be able to access the blog, my about page and my contact information. Some things will change, some things will stay the same. You'll have to tell me what you think!
Time to get on this website overhaul!
cheers kids.
