Opportunity
Design an ad targeted at male, blue collar workers with disposable income between the ages of 35-55 to invite them to begin learning to fly by enrolling in Central Iowa’s ground school classes. More specifically, the ad is targeting people who have always wanted to learn to fly, but never had the chance because “life got in the way.”
Solution
Knowing that this audience tends to lean conservative and carries common thread of love of their country, I changed the lyrics to “This Land is Your Land” (a patriotic song) from above to before, suggesting the view you could have from the airplane if you learn to fly. The text and photo work together to invite the audience to start their flight education by enrolling in Central Iowa’s fall ground school.
