HI. I’M EMMA.
And I do good work.
I shoot weddings because I know how much the photos matter. In 2003, I lost my mom at the age of 18. I lost my dad in 2018, about 15 years later. Those photos of a first look with my dad, the father-daughter dance, and the immediate family photos with my parents on my wedding day are not going to be apart of my album. I personally know the preciousness of every photo with your loved ones. I know what’s going to be missing from my album and it’s so important to me to make sure other people have that.
Your wedding photos can bring reminders of why you married your partner, why you fell in love, and why your partner is worth the fight. Maybe its just a sweet anniversary date idea to reminisce. When you tell your kids the story of how your fell in love, you’ll be able to have pictures to show them. And you’ll have photos to pass on to them as part of their legacy. When you lose a loved one, you will have photos of them on the happiest day of your life.
Your wedding photos are like a fine bourbon. They get better with time. Your wedding photos are keepsakes that will only gain value with time. Wedding photos are the kind of thing that you only trust to someone who knows the value of them from your wedding day to your 50th anniversary, and I have known that value in a deeply personal way since before I knew how to use a camera.
A few personal things about me:
I love to fly airplanes, backpack, climb, travel, eat and nap. Because who doesn’t love a good snack and nap?
Speaking of snacks and naps, my partner, Glenn, and I have two cats, Geoff and Ryan. They destroy the house (they legit flipped a marble-top table… at 6:00 am) and constantly beg for attention or whatever food is on my plate.
I am a born and raised Iowa girl. I grew up (first 5 years of my life) in Lake View, IA, and still have family there.
I am a sucker for office supplies. Seriously, ask me for my recommendations on writing utensils and staplers (#teamswingline) and I won’t steer you wrong.
I will always exclaim, “KEETY!” when I see a cat.
Kentucky is my favorite basketball team (#BigBlueNation!), but I didn’t go there. I lived in Lexington, KY for two years, though. Lexington is always home.
I live with my husband, Glenn, in Des Moines, IA. We have been through the thick of wedding planning and tied the knot on October 7, 2023.
Hoodies, leggings, and a Starbucks chai are my natural habitat.
My favorite foods are mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, and pizza. Carbs, yo.
